By placing a valued order with The Gilded Fern, you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to our Terms & Conditions., as detailed below and as governed by English law. 



  • Please be aware that the images of the products on our site are for illustrative purposes only. We have endeavoured to display the colours accurately, however we cannot guarantee that your computer's display of the colours accurately reflect the colour of the products. As many of our proctucts are hand-made to order in individual batches, the products may vary slightly from those images..

  • We only supply the products for private use. You agree not to use the product for any commercial, business or re-sale purposes.

  • Chocolates are produced, packaged and dispatched by our trusted partner supplier. They have passed all the necessary premises checks and licencing requirements.



  • All prices are inclusive of VAT at the applicable current rate chargeable in the UK at the point of order. 



  • Payment is required in full at the point of order.

  • For our mutual protection, payment for orders is via Paypal only.. Payment for the Products and all applicable delivery charges is to be made in advance. As soon as the cleared funds are received, your order will be considered ‘live’.



  • As our products are made to order, we kindly request your patience while they are carefully hand-made. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery. Aside from chocolate sample orders (which are subject to the above terms), chocolate items will be delivered a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your wedding date.


  • Samples will be sent by Royal Mail 2nd Class Delivery.

  • All other orders will be sent by courier and a signature will be required. If you are not in, a card should be left detailing the next steps for redelivery or collection.

  • The standard cost of delivery is £3.95 for orders of £10.00 or less; £5.95 for orders over £10.00 to £150.00, and FREE for orders over £150.00 GBP for UK mainland addresses only. To place an order to other UK locations, please contact us first for a quotation.



  • We regret that we are not currently able to offer sales to international customers at this time.



  • The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 gives consumers the right to cancel an order within a 7 day cooling-off period from the point of order. However, this cancellation right does not apply in the case of any products made to your specification or clearly personalised; perishable goods, such as food, drink; and any items which for the sake of hygiene and public health we could not accept back when they have been opened or used. To cancel any other kind of order, please do so via email to within the specified 7 day period. 



  • As our items may be personalised, are mostly perishable, and are all made to order, it is with regret that we are unable to offer any refunds or exchanges on such items. Instead, we provide very detailed and accurate photographs of our products and offer a sample service, so you can satisfy yourself with the quality, as well as the flavour and/or fragrance of each product type. All samples are non-refundable.

  • To return other kinds of goods, which are made by ourselves, please first email us at Postage is non-refundable. In the case of items sent under the terms of "free postage" this will no longer be free and will be charged at cost. You are responsible for your own shipping costs to send products back. You should make sure you use a carriage service that is insured and can prove we have taken delivery. If the returned items been damaged, used or are not returned in their original packaging, we reserve the right to withhold a percentage of the refund value. All items must be returned to us before a refund or replacement can be issued. 

  • If you believe a product to be faulty or significantly mis-described, please email to discuss the matter further. As a consumer, you will always have legal rights in relation to products that are faulty or not as described.

  • If you are unhappy with a product from one of our suppliers, please first email us at and we will put them in contact with you. We cannot be held liable for their failure to supply, however we will certainly refund your payment to us.



  • All items will leave us in perfect condition. Goods that have been damaged in transit must be brought to the attention of the courier company. We will be happy to assist with whatever they need from us to verify your claim, however, we cannot be held directly liable for any damage occuring whilst the products are in transit. This is a matter to address with the courier company, although we will happily do whatever we can to make sure you receive replacement products once repaid for while your claim is being processed by the courier.



  • We cannot be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations, or those of our suppliers, under a Contract that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control, i.e. that which lies beyond our reasonable control, including (but not limited to) industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war; fire; explosion; storm; flood; earthquake; subsidence; epidemic or other natural disaster; failure of public or private telecommunications networks; impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport. If an Event Outside Our Control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under a Contract, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you and will keep you informed on the progress of your order. Our obligations will be reinstated once the Event Outside Our Control is over.

  • We have carefully vetted the quality of all products provided by our suppliers and each one has provided us with documented proof of hygiene standards, product safety and compliance with all relevant legislation, however, ultimate legal responsibility for all such products lies with the supplier directly.
